What started as a dream of what it would be like to not dread putting your pontoon cover back on has become a one-of-a-kind solution that has been installed throughout America.
That dream brings us here. With a guy named Bill, or “Wild Bill” as we call him, who designed a solution to a problem that every pontoon owner knows far too well.
Wild Bill owned a boat cover company that specialized in post-market covers. When working with clients he heard the age-old statement “man, I sure love using my pontoon but I hate how long it takes to put on and take off my cover.” As a natural tinkerer Bill thought to himself “I bet I could fix that problem” and away he went trying to solve this age-old problem.
After much tinkering, he came up with an idea. Instead of clipping all the clamps down, why not create a different locking mechanism that would secure the canvas instead? Thus the Wedgetop was born.
After making his first version Bill worked tirelessly to make sure he had built the best cover for not only his pontoon but a cover that would be amazing for everyone’s pontoon! This included adding support on top, a roll canvas system to increase the speed of taking it on and off, and even adding electricity to make it even easier. With every revision, word started to spread and The WedgeTop’s demand kept increasing.
With newfound demand came a steady stream of new WedgeTop covers coming off the shelf. Each is handmade and customized to fit the unique designs of different pontoons. In 2021, Bill partnered with a local businessman named Wayne to expand and grow The WedgeTop.
Today the WedgeTop has been bought across the United States and can be found in lakes, rivers, and oceans alike. Each WedgeTop is still custom-made to fit each pontoon perfectly and every WedgeTop is proudly manufactured in the United States.
